A word from the President

Produce musical events in the middle of nature - From the idea to the project.

Many years have passed since MusiqueNature entered my soul and mind.

Over time, I had gradually reduced my social activities and my consumption - in particular that of so-called "cultural" products. There was not much left in this modern world that stimulated me, uplifted me, made me vibrate!

All that nourished me spiritually at that time were the few escapades in the forest or by the sea that I could only too rarely allow myself. And also the few scraps of more or less sacred, more or less classical, more or less jazzy music that still reached my heart!

I observed the self-destruction of humanity picking up speed, the ambient and planetary greed structure itself superbly. I saw "the man" denature a little more each day, undoubtedly.

Tired of so much sadness, but feeling rather helpless in front of these mad races towards their concrete walls covered with silver, I had to sink for a long time into a counter-productive lethargy. Of course, I continued to exist, to work, to "contribute", while trying to participate as little as possible in this headlong rush of my fellow human beings. But my soul became more and more detached from this body which was led to “build social and economic progress”, a rule of life as blind as it was futile. I almost died of it!

Yet the trees, the plants, the water, the sounds, the animals, the winds, the rocks, the stars, all the vibrant living entities continued to speak to me, to invite me to "be" with them, with their spirits. .

It was the day when I finally opened my soul and my spirit to their full potential that I understood what would be my earthly path from now on.

From the alliance between my two fundamental passions was born the idea of MusiqueNature, whose mission would be to “produce musical events in the heart of nature”!

Reconnecting people to nature through music

Yes, gradually, imperceptibly, slowly but surely we disconnected from nature. We have de-natured ourselves. We created an artificial, seemingly self-sufficient world, fascinated by all the feats we could imagine and then achieve. Science has declared as an observation that "Man" was different, superior, separate, outside of nature. The First Peoples still believe, humbly, that human beings are an integral part of nature.

This same science tells us today that the intelligence of "Man" has caused the destruction of an immense part of nature to the point of inducing increasingly significant climatic changes. And this same science now finds that its "achievements" will probably destroy what it calls humanity...entirely!

Discouragement seizes many humans. Some try to alarm others. Some seek to save their families by moving elsewhere. Others resolve to accept “what is” by taking refuge in giddiness, through play, spirituality, crime or otherwise. While the most vicious are still wondering pathologically how they could get away with it: Flee even further forward? Find out how to save yourself on another planet? Let whole masses of humans of lesser value in their eyes die and reserve more “safe” places for themselves on the least damaged parts of the planet?

Today the First Peoples are still the keepers of the balance. They know that one life, whatever form it takes, cannot be more or less important than another. They know that nature is the mother of all life, human, vegetable, animal, mineral, cosmic or spiritual. Everywhere on Earth like everywhere in any galaxy, life is. And we are only one form of it, simple and complex, but totally interdependent.

From de-natured, disconnected, we need to reconnect with nature and its music.

Conserve and protect the health of humanity and the planet

In the 1990s, Tecumseh, a female medicine friend whom I saw from time to time, had created a Spiritual Center whose mission was to "maintain and protect the health of humanity and the planet". Visionary and inspiring at the same time, his work must be pursued with force in these times of bewilderment.

First center in Canada whose goal is to preserve and protect the health of humanity and the planet, through the dissemination of Amerindian spiritual and philosophical knowledge with the Kanatha magazine and through the use of traditional Huron-Wendat medicinal plants.

Tribute to Gilles Sioui

It was in the spring of 2010 that Gilles offered me his help in order to carry out a first sound and image test in the middle of nature. This is how, with a happy group of friends, we came to the edge of the Saint-Charles River (Akiawenrahk)…

Tiawenhk aweti!

Rest in peace and love, dear Gilles!
